FIU Interior Architecture Department is an advocate for sustainable practices and assists students in implementing green design solutions in their work. In Professor Katie Rothfield’s Sustainable Practices course, they study LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and are encouraged to take the LEED Green Associate Exam. By passing this exam, students earn a professional credential, distinguishing them as leaders with a commitment to sustainability, and giving them a competitive edge in their profession.
In an effort to support the sustainable professional development of its students, the Interior Architecture Department offers reimbursement to Master of Interior Architecture candidates who successfully pass the LEED Green Associate Exam.
This year, seven students applied and passed the LEED Exam. This credential denotes proficiency and basic knowledge on sustainable and green practices, design and construction.
Congratulations to our newest LEED Green Associates!
