Frost Art Museum Features Alumni and Students in Exhibitions

At the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, several students and alumni from FIU Art + Art History are exhibiting in two recently opened exhibits.

In Embodied Awareness, BFA student Carlos Garcia and MFA candidate Susan Maas contribute their own works to the exhibition organized by the FIU Department of Multicultural Programs and Services – LGBTQA Initiatives and students from the FIU College of Architecture + The Arts. The show allows visitors to explore themes of sexuality and gender identity.

In the exhibition Aesthetics and Values, Pepe Mar (MFA ’12) and Yolanda Sanchez (BFA ’91) are curated by students of the FIU Honors College seminar of the same name, taught by John Bailly (BFA ’90). This annual exhibition is the culmination of the course, where students from all disciplines examine the role that visual arts play in the social and cultural dialogue of contemporary issues.
