FIU Art + Art History Professor Fereshteh Toosi Featured in the Miami Herald

Florida International University Assistant Professor of Art + Art History, Fereshteh Toosi, was recently published in the Miami Herald. In her op-ed piece, Toosi discusses the ecological environmental of Miami and the benefits of human interaction with their natural surroundings.

In her new project, “Oracle in the Trees”, Toosi guides participants through a local, pine habitat fostering intimate encounters with the natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from Hafez, a 14th-century Persian mystic and poet, she initiates a dialogue between participants and the local environmental; a mutual healing therapy for the ecological climate and self-care.
