On Monday, November 21, South Florida families will have another change to pay tribute to those who impacted by the Orlando shooting at Pulse NightClub on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 7:30pm in the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center Concert Hall.

Led by Wind Ensemble Conductor and member of the LGBT community, Dr. Brenton F. Alston, this tribute concert has been in the works since the tragedy took place. “In reaction to the recent surge in hate crimes around the country, I feel compelled to what naturally comes to me: promote love and healing through music.”

The concert will bring together over 30 musicians in a performance of night music, featuring singer Vindhya Khare and House DJ Mikey Forte. This eclectic concert will feature William Bolcum’s “Cabaret Songs” for voice and chamber winds and close with a moving performance of Elliot Del Borgo’s  performance of Dylan Thomas’s “Do not go gentle into that good night.”

Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
