College of Architecture + The Arts faculty from the Department of Art + Art History are featured in a new exhibition at the Central Terminal Gallery of Miami International Airport. The exhibition features sixteen well-known artists, eleven of them from the South Florida community.
R.F. Buckley (Professor), Bill Burke (Professor), and Peggy Nolan (Adjunct Faculty) join the other artists in interpreting the myth of the mermaid. The exhibition, entitled La Sirena: A Call for Transformation, emphasizes the artistic, spiritual, and narrative significance that has been attributed to the creature.
The exhibition is running under the direction of Yolanda Sánchez, Ph.D. (FIU BFA ’91), Miami-Dade Aviation Department Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs Division Director.
